This school in Kawempe was started in 2004 for children in the neighborhood whose parents couldn't
afford to pay typically high boarding school fees.
Unfortunately the buildings are in very bad shape and facilities in need of reconstruction.
Most of the 500 pupils are commonly ill because of the unsanitary conditions which the school
cannot afford to change.
Concerned about the health of the students(10 children were sleeping on the floor), in December 2008, we took on the challenge of improving the conditions of the dormitories.Using donations, we were able to paint and fumigate the four rooms in which students are boarded, donate 7 new triple-decker beds, 25 new matresses and provide mosquito nets for all the beds.
A member of our team held a weekly hygiene class for all the students and started a weekly cleaning policy.
